Volunteer Roles

We have a range of volunteer roles available to suit your needs, skill set or interest.

  • Overnight Family Ambassadors – Orange House
Our Family Ambassadors are the friendly faces who stay overnight at the House & welcome guests after hours. As an Overnight Family Ambassador your role provides an empathetic and friendly environment to all families and their children
  • Admin Angels – Orange House

As an Admin Angel your role could be varied. Greeting families as they enter and providing an orientation to our new families. Assisting families with any inquiries they may have. Taking calls/enquiries from the hospital about room availability through to entering families into our systems and running end of day reports. Additionally there may be a range of general admin tasks and projects to assist with, from fundraising to Governance and from time to time helping us with some light housekeeping.

  • Domestic Gods and Goddesses – Orange House
As the name suggests our Domestic Gods and Goddesses have a knack for being clean. They help support the cleaning team by ensuring a high standard of cleanliness through the House.
  • Hospitality Cart Volunteers – Dubbo Hospital
Volunteers are critical to the success of the Cart and will help to stock the cart, deliver the items, connect with sick children and their families and provide general well-being checks
  • Gala Ball Dream Team
Join the Gala Ball team which is a much needed support role for our largest fundraiser for the year. The Gala Ball is held annually in Orange.

We keep children and young people safe in our spaces and do not tolerate any kind of abuse.

Our team, including employees and volunteers, must meet high standards to ensure they prevent and report abuse. We ensure all children and young people have a safe space where we listen to them and empower them. Every day, we aim to make children and young people feel valued, protected, and heard. All roles are subject to compliance and reference checks and are subject to relevant state/territory legislation.

All Volunteers must complete an application form and complete a Criminal Check (cost covered by Ronald McDonald House Central West) and Working With Children Check (no cost involved for Volunteer WWCC) prior to commencing. We also require a Character Reference to be provided as part of the application process.

Our volunteer application process includes an interview with our team on site at Ronald McDonald House Central West.

We are honoured to support and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including families with ill or injured children, so together, we can create a brighter, healthier future for every child.

Make a Difference for Families & Children

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
