When a child is sick or injured it impacts the whole family. We play a unique role in enabling, facilitating and supporting family-centered care for families from across NSW whose children are being treated in Orange.
We also support mothers experiencing a high risk pregnancy who need to be close to the Orange Health Service for treatment by the antenatal team.
We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing vital programs for families with seriously ill children and mothers experiencing high risk pregnancy from across NSW.
Ronald McDonald House Central West opened in 2015, within the grounds of Orange Health Service and we are proud to celebrate our 10th anniversary this year. Our House in Orange supports families from across NSW who have a child aged 18 and under, needing treatment at Orange’s three hospitals. In 2024 our services grew to include a Hospitality Cart program in the Dubbo Hospital that supports families with children in the Paediatric Ware and Special Care Nursery.
Our accommodation, programs and services are provided free of charge to the families of sick and injured children, and women experiencing a high risk pregnancy – helping them when they need it most. We strive to serve more families, better and enable parents and carers to stay close to each other and vital treatment in the Central West.
We are supported by over 130 volunteers who dedicate their time to our families by keeping the house open and running 365 days of the year.
A "home away from home" for families with ill and injured children and mother's experiencing high risk pregnancy. Our House in Orange is situated 300m from the rear entrance of the hospital and has 8 family rooms accommodating up to 6 people in each room. Our new 'Day Pass' program also allows families the opportunity to visit the House to recharge
A bedside service run by volunteers, providing essential items to parents and patients in the Special Care Nursery and Paediatric Ward. Our cart currently operates in the Dubbo Hospital with the hopes of adding another cart at Bathurst Hospital in early 2026

At Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW, we are here for families when they need us most. Some stay a few days, some for months and others regularly over years.
We play a unique role in enabling, facilitating, and supporting family-centred care within the Western NSW Health District specifically in the maternity, child and adolescent health systems, working together with our health partners to support family wellbeing, emotionally, financially and culturally.
