CEO Walk in my Shoes

An Immersive Overnight Experience for Senior Leaders

Ronald McDonald House Charities is a tangible, professional and proactive organisation and one of the most respected children’s charities in Australia. Our Chapter is reliant on the wider community, businesses and corporations to fund and support our programs.

The programs provided by Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW have a direct impact on how we serve more families better in the region.

The ‘CEO Walk in my Shoes’ event helps us connect with change makers in our communities who often go on to become vital ambassadors

for Ronald McDonald House Central West

What to expect during this immersive experience

You will gain a first-hand understanding what parents and carers go through on a daily basis, as well as getting an opportunity to see what it takes to create the best possible experience for a family and come to know the families staying at the House in Orange.

During this 24-hour overnight immersion experience, you will be:

  • cooking and serving dinner and breakfast to our families;
  • guided through real life scenarios, gaining a better understanding of what families go through;
  • using your skills and knowledge together to tackle a business issue
  • gaining a unique insight on what it takes to run the House and create a true sense of empathy for the families that stay at RMHC Central West NSW.

CEO WALK IN MY SHOES 2025

This year we were so privileged to have an incredible team of business leaders join us over two days on 29th-30th May 2025.

Together they broke the record for fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW raising $53,497 which equates to 334 nights of accommodation for our families – a HUGE achievement!

We are so grateful to everyone for their amazing fundraising achievement and also for the time that they gave to immerse themselves in the experience and learn what it might be like to ‘Walk in the Shoes’ of the families that stay with us.

Thank you also to the Hayes Family who joined us for dinner to share their lived experience with our CEO’s, and to the families that were staying in the House over the two days and generously spoke with the team about what they were going through and how Ronald McDonald House Central West was making an impact for them during their stay.

The experience was made possible by our kind sponsors – we are incredibly grateful for their assistance and expertise: The Remington, Country Fruit Distributors and Toby TeRupe Productions.

We are excited to present our ‘Partnering with Ronald McDonald House Central West’ opportunities booklet

Make a Difference for Families & Children

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
