HOSPITALITY CART

Servicing the families with children receiving treatment in the Paediatric ward and Special Care Nursery of Dubbo and Bathurst Hospitals

Our volunteer led program in Dubbo was established in 2024 and so far we have supported over 1360 families with this vital service.

We are excited to launch the same program in Bathurst Hospital in early 2026 to help us support more families in the Central West region when they need it most.

The bedside service delivers essential and comfort items such as toiletries and refreshments as well as activity books, hand knitted blankets, hand knitted teddies, reading books, games and snacks to families. The service is run most days and is a comfort to the children and carers in their time of need.

At the start of each month a ‘Wishlist’ of donated non-perishable goods is put out to our community to supplement the support that we receive from our National Corporate Partners.

Our many Hospitality Carts across Australia are packed with essential items and other goodies to keep children entertained, as well as snacks and hygiene products for parents and loved ones. The Cart rolls right outside the hospital ward, bringing treats and special surprises.

Whether it be a boredom buster or special surprise, our Carts are stocked by donations and run by volunteers, meaning there is no cost to families.

Acknowledgement of Country

At Ronald McDonald House Central West NSW we respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land, skies and waterways on which we gather today.
We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present. We celebrate the resilience and strength of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, the next generation of storytellers, Custodians and leaders. We are honoured to support and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including families with ill or injured children, so together we can create a brighter, healthier future for every child.

Make a Difference for Families & Children

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
